Born and raised in New Hampshire, Sam taught herself to sew at the age of 12. Through the years, she continued to take on new interests; stained glass, counted cross stitch, painting, rughooking, and needlepunch; always with a project at hand.

In 2006, Gollywobbles was formed, as Sam discovered the exciting possibilities of selling her work online via eBay, and Etsy. Sam creates with an old New England maxim in mind: "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without"~

Her style is a little whimsical, and folk art mixed with primitive, often incorporating textile bobbins, potato mashers, spindles, and sheep's wool in her work. Every bit of her resources are used right down to the snippets of thread used for stuffing pillows, and fabric scraps for stuffing dolls.

Sam's long time friend, Deb Boudreau extended an invitation to join her at a local fair. Meeting customers one-on-one was exciting, and both Sam and Deb eventually joined the Rockingham Craftsmen, where they share the love of primtive, country and rustic, while each defines their own individual style.
